Preview of Day Trips Series

Working on a new series for Youtube, podcast, and newsletter.

Preview of Day Trips Series

The Kansas City metro area has an abundance of great restaurants, but what about is nearby cities and towns? Where should you eat if you are on a day trip, visiting relatives, doing work stuff, or exploring? I’m expanding the scope of Chuck Eats KC to include occasional looks at dining in regional cities in towns. I will be looking at dining in these town in a new Youtube series, as well as in this newsletter and my website and podcast.

Weston, Missouri is a town of 1,641 in western Platte County, Missouri. It’s historically significant as the Lewis and Clark Expedition stopped here. That visit is documented around the town, especially along a nature trail. Weston is known for its tobacco production and being home to one of the oldest whiskey distilleries in the western United States. Notable events include the Bigfoot Search in April, the Polish Pottery Festival in May, Juneteenth in June, and Applefest in October.

At this point, I’ve shot photos and videos around Weston. I have gotten an excellent coffee from Weston Coffee Roasters. I hope to visit at least 4-5 restaurants and several of the stores for this installment in the series. Look for a video and more in April.

You can support this project on Ko-Fi. We just launched a podcast, so any help is appreciated. This is an independent review project. We take nothing in exchange from local restaurants, so everything comes out of our own pockets.
